As you explore the dark trail, you'll encounter a few nature stops along the way. Be sure to bring your own flashlight to light your path. Many indoor activities are also included. This year, our Winter Solstice event has been updated with some new features. You may purchase hot drinks and donuts from a food truck. • Indoor Exploration: Step inside the warmth of our Recreation Activities Center for even more fun! o Get creative in the Nature Room where you can make a glowing craft to take home. o Learn about wildlife with special live animal encounters. A portion of the event is outdoors, so please dress appropriately for the weather. Hiking poles will be available to borrow in a limited supply. The walk is aprox. 0.5 miles. All participants must be at least 3 years old, and everyone, including adults, must register to attend. In case of dangerous or icy trail conditions, the event will be canceled. The 5:00 PM timeslot will not be completely dark and is recommended for our youngest participants. Come at the start of your registered timeslot but stay as long as you would like to enjoy all of the activities. It will take about 30-45 minutes to walk the trail.
